Baby Iman

Baby Iman was fighting for her life when she was found at only a few months old in the Raparin Teaching Hospital for Children. Her family, refugees from Syria had taken her there because there was no other place to go. We quickly learned that baby Iman’s little heart was failing to provide critical oxygen and nutrients needed to survive. She was underweight and loosing a battle with infection that was slowly taking over.

After liaising with hospital staff and a trusted facility we arrange for a diagnosis and soon discovered that Baby Iman was born with an ASD and VSD. This heart defect allows blood to pass from the left side of the heart to the right side, effectively contaminating her blood supply. Baby Iman would need heart surgery. We quickly facilitated her application for surgery abroad and helped to ensure that the family had everything they needed to make the journey there and back.

Baby Iman is now back with her family, happy and healthy!
